Housing Benefit
Your Housing Officer will discuss the conditions of your Housing Benefit with you. The link below can help you work out the amount of money you are entitled to from Housing Benefit and any personal benefits such as Universal Credit.
What to expect from a House of Multiple Occupancy (HMO)?
The majority of Responses portfolio are houses in multiple occupation (HMOs). This means that each person who stays in our properties, rents a private bedroom within a house, but shares communal areas such as a toilet, bathroom or kitchen facilities.
The utility bills and Council Tax are split amongst the residents and charged via Service Charges, of which the majority are eligible for Housing Benefit.
Below are some example photos of a typical HMO, bedroom and communal space.
What happens when I move on from a Response home?
For many people, Response housing is a stepping stone on their path to returning to the community and we support people to move on when the time is right. If you wish to leave a Response property we ask that you give us at least 4 weeks notice and allow us to inspect the property before the end of the 4 weeks.
When you move out you just have to return your key, make sure your home is left in a good condition and remember to take any personal possessions with you.
