Working in Head Office

What do Head Office do?

While Head Office staff might not be working with our clients everyday, they enable our charity to run smoothly and our employees to be happy and have everything they need to perform their roles. Every member of staff is crucial.

Head Office staff within Response play a crucial role in the overall management and operations of the organisation. The teams working in Head Office include Human Resources, Learning and Development, Engagement and Fundraising, Finance, Governance and Compliance, IT, and Administration.

Where are they based?

Our Head Office is in Littlemore in Oxford. All our Head Office staff also have the opportunity for hybrid-working. Our Head-Office employees therefore reap the benefits of flexibility, improved work-life balance, and the ability to work in an environment that best suits their individual needs.

Working in Heading Office

Jen's Story

“Hi, my name is Jen. I've worked at Response for 8 years! I started at Response having spent the previous 6 years working in animal rescue. I initially took on the role of Referrals Coordinator which was a departure from my previous job working with all sorts of animals, but I enjoyed the challenge.”

A Varied Job

No two days are the same at Response! I enjoyed interacting with the frontline staff as well as potential clients throughout my time in Referrals and took great pleasure in hearing about successful move ins and move ons. I also had many opportunities to meet and work with partners across mental health services in Oxfordshire.

My journey at Response

“About 18 months after starting here, I moved to become a Quality Officer. I helped to continue the work of developing ReSET (Response Standard Evaluation Tool) which is an internal audit tool. I have also been involved in contract monitoring work, organisational development, the roll out of a new database for Adult Services as well as various ad-hoc work such as incident investigations. With the support of my line manager and using my personal development plan I have completed my ILM 3 to develop into a manager roll in 2020.”

Opportunity to develop

“One of the things that has kept me at Response for 8 years is the number of opportunities I have been offered: I have access to training and I am consistently encouraged to develop my skills. I also enjoy the flexibility offered for working from home as well as bringing one of my dogs to our dog friendly office.

“Response is full of people who care about doing a good job for those who need our services and I enjoy seeing the dedication of our staff to everyone we work with.”
