Bob Sutcliffe
Chair of Trustees
Bob is a Chartered Accountant who has spent most of his career in financial and managerial roles in various industries, mainly papermaking, furniture manufacture, media and IT businesses. He spent ten years consulting in a Mental Health Trust. More recently, he has operated as a non-executive director and chairman of various companies and charities.
He is the chairman of a healthcare solutions development business that focuses on managing the treatment of patients with long-term illnesses such as hypertension and diabetes. Bob is the chairman of Response and is incredibly committed to improving the working environment of social and mental health staff and improving the living environment and lifestyles of individuals who experience mental health issues they care for.
Bob is also chairman of Buckinghamshire County Museum Trust with a vision to make the museum experience relevant to young people, to expand the awareness of the culture of Buckinghamshire and to bring first-class exhibitions out of London and into the provinces.
Bob is a naval historian, specialising to date in the Napoleonic era, author of British Expeditionary Warfare and the Defeat of Napoleon, 1793 – 1815 and various other papers. He is now researching the contribution of merchant shipping in the First World War.
He is married with two daughters and a new delightful granddaughter.
